This clipper, when closed, is actually 2.3 inches long, by 0.5 inches (half an inch) wide, by .25 inches (a quarter of an inch) high. And the weight is actually 0.7 ounces, not the 6 ounces that is stated! The actual dimensions of this clipper make it a miniature model, which may be good or bad, depending on your needs. I was looking for a small clipper to fit into a slot in a leather case, & these fit perfectly. If you're looking for a full-sized clipper, these are much smaller than what is "normal" for fingernail clippers. Although I'm happy with the small size, I did expect a more substantial weight, based on the high price of this item. But the biggest problem is the difficulty of use, which may be inherent to this particular design (the clippers fold almost completely flat). To use them, you must first pull up the top piece (the other side of which contains a metal nail file); a small indentation is thoughtfully included on the side of the top piece to make this a bit easier. After doing that, a very narrow bar will pop up, that is the lever for pressing the clipper into action. This lever is, as I said, miniature, being only a quarter of an inch wide. You better have good eye-hand coordination & good fine-motor skills to operate this little device. The part that clips the nail is also a bit narrower than most. But as for function, this clipper cuts nails expertly with a very sharp cut. You may want to use the file for shaping, but there will be no rough edge on your nail at all, the blades are super-sharp. The final issue I have with this clipper is that it is very awkward to use the file part. To do so, you must grip the narrow clipper bar & press down, at the same time angling the file towards your nail. If you don't press down on this bar (which closes the clipper), you'll leave the sharp clipper blades exposed to the hand that is gripping the file. I felt uncomfortable using the file because I was concerned about where those sharp blades were in relation to my hand, & it was awkward to use. I'll be using a separate file, not the one that's part of this clipper. This clipper gets 5* for sharpness & clipping ability, but loses 2* for being too small for larger (or typical male) hands & for the awkward file use. If you're looking for a very small clipper & you plan on using a separate nail file, then this is an excellent tool. This is the highest priced fingernail clipper of this sort that I have seen, so I expected more than it delivered.
