(More customer reviews)At first I was really impressed, I thought I had found the perfect every day facial cleaner for people with Rosacea. It seemed gentle and didn't make my skin flash red after washing my face. However, a week after I started using the sensitive skin cleaner, I noticed I started getting acne. This is not something common for me. It got worse after three weeks. Plus, I accidentally got some of the cleaner in my eye when washing my face one morning, and I thought I was going to have to go to the ER room. It burned so bad and I couldn't stop flushing my eyes for 20 minutes! If you purchase this product, don't let any to this product near your eyes. It also has a strong "sulfur" smell. I really like that someone tried to make a Rosacea skin product, but this product didn't turn out the way I had hoped. I am not saying this product won't work for everyone, but it didn't work for me.

Review of Mario Badescu Azulene Calming Mask

(More customer reviews)I really like Mario Badescu products so far, I received some nice samples when I ordered directly from their site, and all were great. I'm definitely a bit of a mask junkie, using a couple different ones every week(DDF sulfur mask being one of my favorites).

I'm late 20s, fair freckled skin with occasional breakouts. Combo skin with oily noise/chin, the rest a bit dry. I have some broken capillaries in my cheeks from sun damage(even though I hate the sun and do not bask in it), and though most people don't notice them, I do, and they bug me. I find this takes out a bit of redness and is definitely calming. It's also more moisturizing then most masks I use and doesn't feel like its sucking the last drop of moisture from your skin. So its nice when you are feeling a bit dry or tight.

I've read some people can be sensitive or have a reaction to Balsam Peru, which is an ingredient in this mask, but it doesn't bother me. The mask has a nice thick texture with a light smell. Overall I like it and look forward to trying some of the other MB masks.

(More customer reviews)This is another terrific product from Peter Thomas Roth especially if you are over 50!!!I have had periodic bouts with 'adult acne' but since I have been using this particular toner from PTR it has practicably eliminated the annoying flare-ups!!I had been using PTR Conditioning Toner along with the cleanser, etc, which worked fine, but this Glycolic Toner has made a wonderful world of difference.My skin is firmer & the texture is now fanastic--love this product!!!I will add that I am well over 50!!

(More customer reviews)I have been using this soap twice a day for four months. I also now use a 50 SPF sunscreen as a moisturizer/make-up base in the morning.

If you have rosacea, do not leave the house in the morning without sunscreen. (Also, a good idea if you do not want skin cancer.)

I was using LaMer moisterizer, but it's very expensive (like $150 a jar) and loved the cream, but he liquid made my rosacea worse.Honestly, I have tried lots of very mild soaps and nothing helped.

Another nurse at work recommended this product. When I read the whole thing I laughed out load at the skin mite stuff.Whatever.But her skin was so much better, I gave it a try.The rest is history.

I wash my face in the shower in the morning. I also do not spray water directly on my face and turn the temperature down to about 85 degrees at most.Put the soap on with my hands, not a scratchy cloth, and leave on for 30 seconds while I finish my shower. (The tricky part is not opening your eyes this whole time.)

I then put on 50 spf Banana Boat sunscreen. Then I still do use the LeMer make up.

I have found that using the soap twice a day is a bit drying, so I also might opt for using the Olay make-up wipes at night, since they also remove mascara.I also like the wipes you get at Target called something like Product 7.My skin is a bit oily, so if you have dry skin, put a moisturizing cream on after you wash with this soap.

Anyway, my rosacea is about 80-90% gone.I have read reviews on this product that people think it burns or works for a few weeks and then stops, but my skin has really improved. It does have kind of a weird smell. But now my face has no little red bumps at all. Still red tonesin some areas, but totally smooth so make up coverage isn't lumpy. I am Scottish/Irish descent, and have been told Northern Europeans get rosacea more frequently. I had the "butterfly" rosacea on the sides of my nose and on my chin and a little on the center of my forehead.

I went to my dermatologist yesterday and she was stunned at how much better my skin looks and she even showed me a photo she had taken of me when she originally diagnosed my rosacea a year ago. A HUGE improvement. She had recommended several of the "dermatologist tested" milk soaps and creams for me then, but none have worked as well as this soap.

Skin mites causing rosacea? Heck. I don't care if chocolate covered kangaroos cause it, I just wanted it GONE, and this soap has really helped!

(More customer reviews)I purchased this book after reading a review about it in a magazine, and I'm extremely pleased with it!

Before buying the book, I was worried that the questionnaire that Dr. Baumann provides wouldn't be as easy as it was to follow since, in the past, I've often found that questionnaires sometimes don't reveal your categories as clearly as they could.In this case, however, her questionnaire was simple and accurate, and I learned a great deal about my skin.

What I also like is that Dr. Baumann provides you with information in case you fall into a borderline area in one of the four categories.For instance, I fall between the Wrinkled and Tight skintypes in one category, but the book suggested that if this is the case, that I follow the Wrinked guidelines to prevent the formation of future wrinkles.She offers similar suggestions throughout, so that you know when and how to use the products she recommends.

I also like how Dr. Baumann provides products in a variety of price ranges, many of which can be found at a local drugstore.The only downside is that some of the prices were a bit more expensive than her price rating system seems to suggest.For example, each of the products is rated from $-$$$ in terms of its cost.Two of my recommended eye creams were in the $$ price range, when one, in fact, costs $55 and the other $68.It seems like these should have been placed in the $$$ range, and these aren't the only examples of this nature.

Overall, though, it's been an excellent purchase!Considering how much many of us spend on beauty and facial products, the book is a very good investment.Personally, I know that it will help me avoid making costly mistakes in the future.Instead of continuing to spend money on products that don't work for my skin type, I now feel like I will be a more confident shopper.
