(More customer reviews)Wonderful, smooth gel that not only lightens the skin (no more brown patches, freckles, etc) but also smooths the skin tremendously.Skin gets drier/more uneven when I go without it for more than 2 weeks.I've tried lots of products, mostly those with hydroquinone, but Jan Marini's product works just as well without it.Goes on very smooth and absorbs quickly, I usually put it on alone at night.Love the results.Highly recommended.

(More customer reviews)I got this item because it was recommended by Cosmopolitan magazine for women with my skin type -- a light to dark brown complexion, e.g. Middle Eastern, Indian, or Southeast Asian.Women with this skin tend to suffer from hyperpigmentation or melasma which results in age/liver spots or dark patches of skin on their face and arms.It can be be worsened by exposure to sun.Women with this skin also tend to get dark spots resembling bruises that take awhile to go away whereever they get bug bites or other skin injuries.

Hydroquinone can be used to lighten these patches and the DDF Fade Gel 4 has hydroquinone in the strongest concentration possible.I had previously used another drugstore product which came as a white cream, had the same concentration of hydroquinone, but was much cheaper.Unfortunately, it resulted in a slight sunburned look in every spot that I applied it, which is one of the possible side effects.(I looked ridiculous, with red patches around my eyes, nose, and mouth.)To avoid this side effect, you ought to (and the package says so) avoid direct sunlight as much as possible after application and during use of the product.

With the DDF Fade Gel 4, I was happy that I suffered from no adverse side effects:no burning sensations; no sunburned skin; and it actually was effective in lighting the dark skin pigmentation around my eyes, mouth, nose, and the dark spots left behind wherever I got mosquito bites on my legs and arms.It definitely worked, but don't expect miracles.

My biggest complaint about the product however, was that the gel was a dark caramel color.The result was that when you applied it to your skin, it actually made the area of application darker for the period that it is on your face.And if you're not careful about using only the smallest amounts, you'll end up with the product dried and caked onto the application areas, which will flake off if you rub at it (and since it's a caramel color, it's definitely noticeable).

Moreover, it's a very expensive product and you get a very small jar.I think that I'll just experiment with some of the cheaper products in the future that also contain 2% hydroquinone.

I LITERALLY put it on this morning before i put on my deodorant.I put it on again tonite..and I woke up to go to the bathroom...I took a look at my armpits and it's almost back to my normal skin color.It really lightened up! WOW! I applied more to speed up the process so tommorow it will probably be COMPLETLEY GONE. So WOW..two days!I hope this product doesn't contain hydroquine becuz i hear bad thing about that ingredient.But I've read the ingredients and it says nothing about hydroquine but I se the popular ingredient KOJIC ACID..which is okay! At night I put a GOOD thick paste on the armpits to speed the process..don't use THIN layers.The more the better!
YAY..im happy..no more discolored armpits!!

(More customer reviews)I really didn't expect much from this product, in fact now that I think about it I'm not so sure why I bothered. I'm African American, but have a golden orange undertone to my skin--usually. In the summer my skin always turns darker with a purple undertone and I get very ashy. I've been using Likas Papaya soap for about two months (just one bar will last for a very long time) every time I am in my bikini I get sooo many compliments on my skin tone. All of my friends say they are so jealous because they love the color of my skin. I just make sure to use sun block and wash everyday with this soap and I love the results. Please remember it's not a quick over night kind of change, but gradually it will turn your skin to it's natural color and with a glow. Oh and be sure to scrub your skin with it, I use a very rough luffa so I don't know if that makes a difference of not.

(More customer reviews)The lighter your skin(like me)the longer could take.I have been using this product for months because by experience I know that Hydroquinone works.It comes in a 4% prescription strenght which it works much faster but usually doctors are reluctant to prescribe it.I discover Nadinola by chance with a 3% concentration so I bought it to compare which is better.Both cost around the same....
The reason I gave this product 3 stars is because the results are slow and I also understand that for 5 to 7 dollars that's ok....
